Scripps in the Community
Did you know that YOU are an important part of Scripps Institution of Oceanography's mission? We've always believed in translating the scientific work done at Scripps to offer tangible benefits to the community, both local and global, and we work hard to uphold that promise through a variety of service-oriented projects and programs.
Birch Aquarium at Scripps is the public exploration center for Scripps, delivering the institution's science to the community for hands-on learning experiences. Other endeavors, such as regular public lectures, are also touching the lives of many people well beyond the Scripps campus borders.
